Turn Around

You pause to get up and try to see the streets but someone is blocking you. At first terror shoots through your body and you flinch back, but when you look closer at their face then you relax. “You scared the shit out of me,” you smile and sigh in relief. “I thought somebody was following me.”

They chuckle and give you a hand up. Almost instantly, a cloth covers your nose and mouth. You drop your phone on the ground as you try to pull it away from your mouth. Disbelief and betrayal are painted across your face. Why? Your fingers scratch at the cloth but it’s no use.

Your vision is already spinning and tunneling to darkness.
